The hotel offers rooms at a reduced rate due to incomplete renovation, with really good breakfast choices and a nice shower. It was clean overall. The service was exceptional with a busy pub underneath, very helpful and lovely staff who were excellent, friendly, and proactive in assistance. The location is excellent for attending a family wedding and superb for exploring the Borders area, situated in the center of Duns with a friendly staff and good home-cooked food. The dining experience was excellent, providing friendly service with a highlight on the smokey bacon and haggis breakfast, made fresh to order. The facilities were well-kept and valuable.
I had a pleasant stay overall. The rooms were small but had comfortable beds, a good shower, nice towels, and a working TV with remote. Despite being cold initially, a heater helped. The hotel is in mild disrepair but still fine. The staff was exceptional – friendly, helpful, and willing to assist with luggage. The location was central, although could use a revamp. Dining was enjoyable, and the food was fresh.
